Elk Steak Bites

Updated: May 29

Personally, I love having the ability to cook because if I’m craving something… I just like to test myself that I can make it better!
I recently have discovered a zip sauce that I’m in love with, so what better way than some elk steak bites! These steak bites are seared to perfection and packed with flavor. It’s an easy dinner or appetizer and ready in just about 15 minutes.

For a visual/ hands-on demonstration of how I prepared this recipe, you can follow and check out Bloom Outdoors on Tik-Tok.

Ingredients:

This is one of those “judge with your heart” recipes!

  • 1 lb. elk steak

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Onion powder

  • Garlic powder

  • Butter

  • Yellow onion

  • Green onion

  • Feta cheese

  • Worcestershire sauce

  • Minced garlic

  • Olive oil

  • Zip sauce

  • Pita bread

Directions:

  1. Prepare your steak by patting dry and cutting off any excess tallow. Chop steak into bite size pieces.

  2. Place in a bowl and season with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Mix well till each piece is seasoned evenly.

  3. Preheat a cast iron skillet with butter. Add in onion and garlic, allowing it to caramelize.

  4. Place the steak bites right on top of the onions and cook for about one minute, flip and cook for another minute.

  5. Judge with your heart and add Worcestershire sauce, olive oil and zip sauce. Mix well and allow flavor to simmer together for two minutes.

  6. Remove from heat and top with green onion and feta cheese.

  7. I enjoyed pairing this with some toasted pita bread but it is also great for tacos, salads, etc.

  8. Enjoy!
